Snaps & Rye - New Danish Café in London

The other day I stumbled across an article about a new Danish eatery in Elle Decoration online. Snaps & Rye joins a small number of Nordic cafés in London (The Scandinavian Kitchen and the Nordic Bakery are favourites of mine) where we can revive ourselves with food from 'home'. Although Norwegian, I, like most Scandis, spent holidays in all the Scandinavian countries growing up, and food from the Scandi 'brother' countries evoque happy childhood memories. I have a dreamy memory of staying overnight on a farm en-route somewhere, and sitting down to a breakfast table so full of delicacies that we couldn't even get through them all (the landlady's disappointment was palpable when she realised that we hadn't discovered her home-made paté, covered as it was by a beautiful linen cloth).
I look forward to trying Snaps & Rye soon - this refreshingly light and retro-modern café is located at no. 93 Golborne Road at the western end of Notting Hill. Golborne Road, in case you are not aware, has a number of interesting antique shops and brocantes, plus the fascinating 'Rellik' vintage clothes shop and much more.
